Ballerina Baker

It’s not that Ellie McKittrick thought sixth grade was going to be easy. It’s that she didn’t think it was going to come with catastrophic, frosting-covered humiliation. And she really didn’t think it would come with a bully who hates cookies but loves Ellie’s eternal struggle with gravity. And Ellie really, really didn’t think that she’d discover that her parents are considering selling the family the bakery — the one her family has owned (and lived above) for two generations. The one Ellie plans to run one day (a long with being a professional ballerina, but more on that plan, later). Ellie has to find a way to stop the sale and save the bakery, but how is she supposed to do that, when just staying upright feels like a victory?

A voice-driven middle grade novel with themes of family, believing in oneself, and dreaming outside the box.
